Multiple Applications: With the light attached to the planter, either place the Plantern on a deck, patio, porch, or walkway or mount it as a wall lantern. In both configurations, the Plantern provides extra lighting while displaying and illuminating your beautiful potted plantings. You can also detach the planter and stake the light directly into the ground as a path or garden light. Whatever way you choose to set up the Plantern, no electrical wiring is needed to power it up -just sunlight. Duration: The solar panel at the top of the lighting fixture harnesses the sun’s rays to charge an internal Lithium Ion battery. At dusk, the light will turn on automatically and provide and atmospheric 40 lumens of light. Its designed to operate for eight (8) hours when the battery has been fully charged during the day. Years of Operation: The Integrated Lithium Ion battery pack lasts for approximately 3 years (roughly 1000 charges) and can be replaced for an additional 3 years of operation. Solar Powered: This Plantern is solar powered and has to be exposed to direct sunlight. Recharging speed will vary based on weather conditions, but no charging will occur if direct sun does not shine on the solar panel, so do not put the Plantern in the shade.
